Douglas L. Logsdon, Jr., 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born on December 26, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Douglas L. and Betty (Lynn) Logsdon, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Douglas Logsdon, Sr.
Doug was a retired truck driver, an avid gardener, a drummer, a lover of music, and animals, especially dogs. His artistic nature made its way into most all he did including cooking and grilling, where he made it clear that food should taste wonderful and look good on the plate. He was also well known for carving "one mean pumpkin." His breadth of knowledge about so many subjects made him an engaging conversationalist and storyteller. He loved history and would have won millions on Jeopardy. He will be missed by all who knew him and had the privilege of calling him, "friend." Early in Doug's life he came to know and to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Doug is now home with his heavenly Father, and we rejoice in that reception.
Doug is survived by his loving Partner of 30 years, Diane Vanover; Mother, Betty Logsdon; Daughters, Angie Logsdon, Rachel Logsdon, Erin Logsdon; Sons, Chad Logsdon, Shaun Douglas Logsdon; Sisters, Lisa Long (Chuck), Gayle Garrett (Doug); Brother, Robert Logsdon; Grandsons, Jackson Holcomb, Braylon Holcomb, Xavier Holcomb; uncles, aunts, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 1:00pm-5:00pm, with a celebration of life to follow at 5:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr., Louisville KY, 40243.
The family requests that contributions in Doug's memory be made to the Steven Vanover Foundation.
