Douglas Vincent Kleier Jr., also known as Dougie, passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 44. He was born on June 30, 1979, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dougie was a dedicated and lifelong learner. He attended Thomas Merton Academy for his primary education, DeSales High School, and went on to pursue higher education at the University of Louisville. His thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and he could often be found with his nose buried in a book or watching the news, keeping up on current events.
Dougie is survived by his parents, Patsy and Douglas Kleier Sr., his sister, Valerie Mack (Nate). He is also survived by his pride and joys, his nephews, George and Nathaniel Mack, and niece, Savannah Mack. Dougie is also survived by a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Curtsinger.
Dougie will be remembered for his love of learning and his passion for staying informed. He leaves behind a legacy of curiosity and an example of the importance to never stop learning.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Wayside Christian Mission. Dougie had a deep compassion for the homeless community, and supporting this cause would be a meaningful way to honor his memory.
Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life of Dougie as we gather to pay our last respects and share our memories of a kind-hearted individual who cared deeply for the less fortunate.
