Doug Curts passed away on September 5, 2022 at Saint Matthews Care Center under the care of Hosparus of Louisville.
Mr. Curts is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Dudley Curts.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving companion of 42 years, Connie Davis, their daughter Amanda Smith (Tyler), and grandson, Hunter Smith. Mr. Curts is also survived by his mother, Vionna B. Curts.
Doug graduated with Honors & Valedictorian from Butler High School in 1971. Upon graduating, he worked several years as a Real Estate Agent. After leaving Real Estate, he worked 30+ years in Security at Churchill Downs enjoying the sights, sounds, and thrill of horse racing. As a hobby, he looked forward to the excitement of the latest & greatest technology, from cell phones to TVs to surround sound. Being a huge UK fan, Doug rarely missed a Kentucky game and enjoyed watching the wildcats from the comfort of his favorite luxury recliner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, (10304 Dixie Highway). Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022 with Burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
