Dottie Jo Ashby, 22, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Malachi Xavier Joseph Ashby, infant son of Dottie, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Dottie was born on April 21, 1989, in New Albany, IN to Valerie Mae Bagby Austin & Phillip Douglas Ashby. She attended The Happy Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She is survived by her children, Gabrielle "Kid Gabbster" Ashby, Cierra "Turtles" Glenn, and Andrew "Bad Boy" Glenn; her mother and father, Valerie & Carlos Austin, her father, Phillip Ashby, brothers and sisters, Amber K. Austin, Phillip Douglas Ashby III, Frankie Marie Austin, Amber Marie Ashby, Brittany Hazen, Brandon Ashby, and Brian Adam Pollen; and her grandparents, Val Bagby (Josephine), Bill Ashby (Ann), and Janice Fulton (Charles). In addition to her son Malachi, Dottie was preceded in death by her nephew, Edwin Austin and her grandmother Dottie Mae Bagby.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 8 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
