Dorris Fries Arnold, age 92 of Pewee Valley, KY., passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. She will be remembered by family and friends as a strong and independent woman with many special gifts. Her baking, particularly her homemade bread, was legendary. Dorris also enjoyed a passion for classical music. She had a beautiful voice and was an accomplished pianist. She will be most remembered for her love of nature. Her knowledge of all things, plant and animal, led others to often refer to her as "Mother Nature". She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Charles W. Arnold; and her second husband, William H. Hall, Sr.; 2 sisters, Ruth F. Roettger and Edythe F. Cooper and one brother, Gordon B. Fries.
Dorris is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. Kleis; grandchildren, Jessica Cochran (Kevin), Matthew Kleis; great-grandson, Jack Michael Cochran; step-son, William H. Hall, Jr. (Reta). She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
The family will celebrate her life with a private memorial service.
Gratitude beyond words to Reta and Bill Hall, whose devotion and care enabled Dorris to remain in the home she loved so much.
