Dorothy Ann Wilson, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, on July 8, 2018. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church, PWM of Southern Star Chapter #154, Order of The Eastern Star and Past Mother Advisor of Buechel Rainbow Assembly #33.
She loved singing for the Lord, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was a very special lady, inside and out, she was one to always lend a helping hand, putting others before herself.
Dorothy was born on June 16, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Phillip and Roburta Funkhouser. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Isert; brother-in-law, Gray Isert; and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Wilson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Tom Wilson; son, Tommy Wilson (Pat); daughter, Robin Higdon (Monty); grandchildren, George Hammerbeck (Loraine), Mike Johnson, Scott Wilson (Angie), Chris Higdon (Brittany), Andrea Murphy (Cory); great-grandchildren, Sophia Hammerbeck, Jack Hammerbeck, Jaxon Wilson, Gavin Wilson, Tucker Higdon, Charleigh Higdon, Callen Murphy and Alivia Higdon; sisters, Jeanie Oliver (Bill), Hollie Buckner (Kenny), Sanda Stanley (Bob), Wanda Kehrer (Terry); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), visitation will resume on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service. A Celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.
