Dorothy June Nance

Dorothy June Nance, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

She was born on November 8, 1934, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John Walter Nance and Catherine (Black) Nance. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, David Smith and Richard Banet; siblings, John McClellan Nance, Edna Shireman, Doris Jones, Nettie Reardon, Mary Mashtare, Walter Nance, Louis Edward Nance, Frank Nance, and Robert Nance; grandson, Edmond Keith Muth; great-grandson, Cody Proffitt; and son-in-law, Gary Nierengarten.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Brenda Nierengarten, Linda (Larry) Moffett, Pamela (Ted) Bailey, Terry Nance, Michael Nance, and Jeremy Nance; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
