Dorothy Light, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Dorothy was a dedicated teacher who later took on a role in family resource, she loved working with children. She was a devote Christian, Dorothy was the best mother ever.
She was born on September 12, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Oakley and Violet Smith, she was later adopted into the loving home of the late John and Nelie (Mcentire) Light. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Marlene, James, and Allison.
Dorothy is survived by her loving son, John Malachi Light, siblings, Darlene, Tina, Alton, and Louise, she is also survived by a host of loving friends and family, especially her best friend, Edwina.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 10:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
The family requests that contributions in Dorothy's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
