Dorothy Jean Horne

Dorothy Jean Horne, 71 of Louisville was called home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2022.

Dorothy was born in Franklin, KY on April 9, 1951. She was the fourth of seven children to the late William and Mary Johnson.

Dorothy was a God fearing woman who knew and loved the Lord. She was a great, loving woman that met no strangers, anyone who came into her presence loved her. She was not only a mother and grandmother to her own by to many others throughout her life.

Dorothy gave her life to Christ at an early age at Alpha Baptist Church in Franklin, KY then after moving to Louisville. She then became a Member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a department manager at Big K department store in Franklin, KY for several years. After moving to Louisville she worked and retired from Metro Parks after 20 years of service. She always loved giving back to her community. Dorothy loved doing and teaching ceramics.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her Husband, Arthur "Radio" Horne Sr., Parents, Brother, Bobby Gooch, and Great Grandson, Christopher Johnson Jr.

Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Felisa Bunton (Paul), Kristal Black (Robert), and Chandra Horne, grandchildren, Alicia, Paul III, Ebony, Donyell, Danielle, Antwan Jr, Jasmin, and Jevon, great grandchildren, Dayona, Aniya, Caire, Stephan, TaMajh, TaMani, Promise, Prince, Siya, TeMir, and Siyon, step daughters, Sherryl Clarkson, and Angella Tobin, step son, Arthur Horne Jr.. sisters, Shirely Channel, Mary Bailey, and Brenda Lockhart, brothers, Terry Johnson Sr (Mary Ann), and Thomas Johnson (Margaret Ann). Dorothy also leaves behind to cherish her memory her three grand dogs, Pepper, King, and Kobe, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.


Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church, (3315 Dixie Hwy ). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, at Antioch Baptist Church.
