Dorothea Val (Gaskell) Blevens, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
She was born on October 7, 1925 in Rawlins, Wyoming to the late James L. and Beatrice (Whitney) Gaskell. Dorothea grew up in Louisville where she attended Shawnee High School and Franklin College. She was a retired librarian, an avid sports fan, and served as a chairman of the A.A. Token Club in Jeffersonville.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Hundley (Cyndy) of Paducah, KY, James & John Baumberger of Clarksville, & Andrew Baumberger (Angela) of Jeffersonville, IN; her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Al Blevens & Murray Baumberger; & her son, Kirk Baumberger.
Her Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, at 1 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
