Dorland Edwin Moore

Dorland Edwin Moore, 78, of LaGrange, Kentucky, entered this life on January 30, 1943. Dorland was born to Pearl and Frank Moore of Campbellsville, KY. Dorland passed away at his home surrounded by his family on November 5, 2021 following a battle with cancer.

Dorland is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Frank Moore, sisters; Juanita Hicks, Janice Price and Carol Hill, brothers; Vernon, Delbert and Bluford Moore and great-grandbaby Lillianne Major.

Dorland was reared on the family farm in Campbellsville, Kentucky until the age of 16 when he left to pursue a career in building in Louisville, KY. He later worked for Plumbers Supply Company and retired from there. After retiring he established a home improvement business which he was actively working until his illness. Dorland loved working with his hands, he was a multi-gifted jack of all trades. He enjoyed a good challenge to repair, create and problem solve. Dorland didn't just build a business, he built relationships that afforded him wonderful friends that he truly loved and valued.

Dorland was a member of Ville Church, Louisville, KY where he loved greeting people, sharing stories and helping them feel welcome. Dorland came to know the Lord through a hunting trip. He saw a balloon in a tree and inside was a scripture of salvation. He went to church that next Sunday and the pastor used the same scripture in his message, Dorland recognized the drawing of the Holy Spirit and gave his heart to The Lord and was baptized.

In his free time Dorland enjoyed the sport of fishing. He loved fishing with friends and family or just relaxing on the bank by himself.

Dorland found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was such a patient, Hands on loving Papaw.

Dorland is survived by his loving wife Lana of 36 years. He was her faithful protector, provider and biggest cheerleader. He is also survived by his children; Sandra Frazier, Timothy Moore, Stephanie Button (Daniel), grandchildren; Jacob (Jennifer), Bryant, Hayley, Lindsey, Gaige (Brooke), Holly, Savannah, Ashley, five great-grandchildren and brothers; Donnie (Patricia) and Bobby Moore.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Ville Church, (12001 Shelbyville Rd Suite 104 Louisville, KY 40243) with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky.
