Doris Tyler Harbin, 78, passed away in her home February 7 with grace and dignity. She was a caregiver to all who crossed her path even while they were caring for her during her long illness. Her heart and faith guided her every decision. She was inspiration to each of her six children, Duane Harbin (Jeanie), Sandy Beyerle (Bill), Pamela Argabrite (Joe), Sherrian DeWitt (Gary), Tina Martin (Ken) and Art Harbin (Carrie), as well to her sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family is extremely appreciative to her Hosparus team.
Doris was born to Fulton Tyler and Mabel Knauer Tyler on August 12, 1933 in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. After losing her husband and her children's father, Stanley, she studied with her youngest son, Art, during his senior year in high school and earned her diploma. The two of them graduated together in May, 1982. She worked in the cafeteria at Eastern High School for several years, a day care where two of her grandchildren attended and at the original Homemade Ice Cream and Pie kitchen. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.
Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation from 3-8pm Friday. Burial will be in Chenoweth Run Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus or Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
