Doris Jean Stiner

Doris Porter Nale Stiner, 87, of New Albany, Indiana, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Clark County Memorial Hospital. Doris was born June 22, 1936, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Jess and Freida Ferber Porter Stucky. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Stiner; her step-father, Ralph Stucky; son, James Nale of Salem, Indiana; sister, Betty Stucky of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; and brother, Marion Porter of Memphis, Indiana.

Doris is survived by three children, daughter, Debra (James) Strunk, of Bloomington, Indiana sons, Charles (Jackie) Nale, of Bedford, Kentucky, William Edward (Michelle) Stiner of Little York, Indiana; and daughter-in-law, Karen Martin Nale of Salem, Indiana. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Desiree (Jory) Tudder, Angie Willard, Michael Strunk, David (Heather) Nale, Missy (David) Williams, Alexandria (Zac) Clifton, Samantha (Zac) Wood, and Cody (Journey) Thompson; seven great-grandchildren, Abby Snyder, Cory Smith, Gavin and lan Tudder, Madelyn Williams, Lincoln Wood and James Nale of Aurora, Colorado; and a brother, Melvin Porter of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Doris is also survived by several nieces, nephews and several in-laws.

Doris was known for her many family holiday meals; giving a standing invitation to 35 family members every year. Doris worked at Bruce Fox Company in New Albany, Indiana for 22 years. She was also a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Albany, Indiana for 56 years.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150), with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
