Doris Lucille Smith

Doris Lucille Smith, 91, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024. A kid at heart, Doris had a feisty personality and truly never met a stranger. She loved being around people and was always quick to offer up advice or give her opinion. Doris enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns and anything that involved cowboys.

She was born on June 18, 1932 in Madison, Indiana to John and Mary Smith. Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Jackson and Josephine Welch. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and good friends that became her extended family at Quality Community Services.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Springdale Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
