Doris Lee Prouty, age 78 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Doris was born and raised in Clarinda, Iowa with three brothers and three sisters. She moved from Clarinda to Louisville, KY in the 1980's, with her son Shawn, obtaining a career at Dairy Mart Corporation, then retiring from Louisville Metro Parks Department. She enjoyed cheering for University of Louisville and loved the Kentucky Derby. Doris was preceded in death by both her parents Herbert and Clara Sump, her three sisters Audrey, Clythia, and Joyce, along with her brother Leonard Sump.
Doris is survived by her son, Shawn Prouty (wife Sabrina); two grandsons, Andrew and Matthew; and her two brothers, Morris Sump and Ron Sump.
A gathering to celebrate Doris' life will be on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 3 to 6 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.
