Doris J. Payton, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. Doris was a loving wife, mom, granny, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved kids and dedicated her life to caring for others.
She was born on April 14, 1930 in Yeaman, Kentucky to Harvey and Jewell (Patterson) Duggins. She is preceded in death by her Father, Harvey Duggins, Mother, Jewell Duggins, Husband, Otha Payton, Grandson, Matt Payton, Sister, Louise McDaniel, Brother, William "Billy" Duggins.
Doris is survived by her loving family, Son, Garry Payton; Grandson, Michael (Brandi) Payton; Granddaughter, Jenny (Craig ) Payton; Granddaughter-In-Law, Jessica Payton; Great-Grandchildren, Cortney, Addie, Ryan, Delaney, Camden, and Colton, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Doris 's memory be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
