Doris Jean(Kahl) Murphy

Doris Jean (Kahl) Murphy, 87, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. She was a 1946 graduate of New Albany High School and worked at various places that included AT&T, the Census Bureau, and S. Ellen Jones School. Doris retired from PNC Bank in 1993 and then began working part-time at Jim O'Neal Ford in Sellersburg.

She was born on February 10, 1928 in New Albany to the late Albert and Maudie (Woods) Kahl. Along with her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Robert, and Wilburn Kahl; and grandchildren, Tonya Line and Scott Murphy, Jr.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, John Murphy; children, Debbie Line (Phillip), Mark Murphy, Scott Murphy, Laura Woulfe (Mike); sister, Helen Grimes; grandchildren, Matt Sinex (Tracy), Tyler Woulfe, Chris Line (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Keigan, Makinna, Ian, Kaylyn, and Jaxon.

Private Services for Doris will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). She will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205).
