Doris Elizabeth French, 94, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Doris was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She was a member of the altar society at the former St. Clement's which is now St. Peter the Apostle and was known as the Popcorn Lady at BINGO. Doris was a kind woman that never had an ill word for anyone. She loved to bake, work on word puzzles and reading the paper every day. Doris was devoted to the rosary. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on April 15, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky to Adam and Edith (Brumleve) Kraesig. She is preceded in death by her mother, Edith Kraesig; father, Adam Kraesig; husband, Stewart J French, Sr.; daughter, Doris Klinglesmith; son, Stewart French, Jr.; and brothers, Elmer Kraesig, and Melbert Kraesig.
Doris is survived by her loving family, daughter, Karen (Dennis Carlisle) French; grandchildren, Paul (Jessica) Arms, Jennifer (Dylan Hanks) Carlisle, Dawn Oakleaf, Stewart French, III, David (Cara) Klinglesmith, Todd Klinglesmith; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
