She navigated the complexities of life with an undeniable feistiness, a characteristic that defined her personality and endeared her to all who crossed her path. Doris was a woman who spoke her mind with confidence and clarity, unwavering in her pursuit of happiness.
A passionate homebody at heart, she found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking delectable meals for her loved ones and hosting delightful weekly dinners that echoed with laughter and camaraderie. Her love for culinary arts was rivaled only by her fondness for flora; she devoted much of her time to caring for her beloved flowers and plants, drawing inspiration and solace from their beauty and resilience. A regular reader of Home and Garden magazines, she cultivated both her garden and her home with the same tender affection that she bestowed upon her family. Doris loved to capture the moments through photography and taking photos.
Doris also cherished the quieter moments spent in nature, often found on her deck watching the enchanting dance of hummingbirds and other birds as they flitted about, a testament to her appreciation of life in all its forms. Her joy in shopping, a pastime she relished, was another aspect of her colorful tapestry of interests, showcasing her vibrant approach to life.
Friends and family alike will undoubtedly remember Doris Jean Dale not just for her charmingly candid nature, but for the warmth she instilled in every gathering and the elegance she brought to her home and garden. The indelible mark she has left on the hearts of those who loved her will forever be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Fox and sister, Sharon Fox.
Doris leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Samuel Dale; children, Stephanie Brandon and Shawn Dale; grandchildren, Alana Brandon, Alyssa Brandon and Carter Wolford and great- grandchildren, Keyston Rodriguez, Isla Rodriguez and a baby boy on the way.
A visitation in her honor will be held on March 10, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, whose spirit will continue to bloom in the memories of all who knew her.
