Doris Rose Brewer

Doris Rose Brewer, 87, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023. She was born on March 29, 1935, in New Albany to William and Edith (Lone) Brewer. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Paul.

She graduated from New Albany High School in 1952 and was a lifelong, avid fan of the Bulldogs. After graduation, Doris went to work for Evans Department Store and later became a manager at The Fashion Shop. Upon retirement, she began working part-time at Huber Winery for 24 years. Doris was a devout member of Wesley Chapel Church and regularly attended the Sunday morning service before going into work at the winery.

Doris is survived by her children, Gary Walther (Jan), Shelley Ferrazzi (Lou), David Grant (Rebecca), and Donald Grant (Luanne); siblings, Bill, Barb, and Darlene; grandchildren, Jason, Sara, Elliott, Garrett, Carly, Delaney, and Danielle; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be truly missed by both her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
