Dora Laduke

Dora Ann (Huth) LaDuke, 44, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012.

Dora was born on February 1, 1968 to Myron Eugene & Carolyn Sue (Jerrell) Huth. She was a 1986 graduate of Floyd Central High School where she played with the Lady Highlanders Softball team. Dora then went on to graduate from Jefferson Community College to become a registered nurse and received her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University-Southeast. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, the Grants Committee with the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Dora had a gift of working with stain glass and loved spending time with her dogs, Lady & Perdy, and her cat, Simba. Battling Leukemia since 1999, Dora had a love for helping others that were going through the same journey. She touched so many lives through her acts of selflessness and her caring heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Casey LaDuke; daughter, Sydney Nicole LaDuke; parents, Myron & Sue Huth; brother Mark Huth (Jenny); sisters, Lisa Montgomery & Myra Huls (Randy); nieces and nephews, Emily Huth (Broderick), Tabby Foreman, Kristy Kerr Hartfield, Hayley Montgomery, Bruce Dowell, Robin Dowell, Seth Huls, & Cody Huls.

Dora is preceded in death by her grandparents, Art & Neila Jerrell, and George & Frances Huth.

Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM Friday, June 15, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (New Church) with visitation from 8AM until the time of service in the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
