Donnie Ray "Don" Conrad

October 4, 1942 — March 30, 2024

Donnie Ray "Don" Conrad, went home to his Lord at 3:30 am on March 30, 2024 at the age of 81. He was a devoted and lifelong member of Indian Creek Baptist church in Georgetown, Indiana.

Don was born in a farmhouse in Crandall, Indiana on October 4, 1942. He was the fifth of seven children born to Russell and Zula (Coomer) Conrad. When Don was four years old, his family moved to the "Sherman Minton Birthplace " home in Georgetown, Indiana.

He attended Georgetown High School and went on to marry the love of his life, Darleen Reilly, on November 3, 1959. Don loved his career as a Production Support Supervisor at Brown and Willamson, where he graciously received an early retirement due to health issues in August of 1975.

Don and Darleen were happily married for 65 years and blessed with three beautiful daughters. After retirement, the family spent a brief stint in Florida before returning home to be closer to family. While his time in Florida was cherished, family was always his number one priority.

In later years, upon being asked what he hoped people would remember about him when he was gone, he was quick to respond "that I love Jesus and I love my family!" There was no question as to his devotion and love for his family. Don was always a great encourager and he instilled in his family, above all, strong faith and a strong bond that will endure for years to come.

He was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.

Don is survived by his wife Darleen (Reilly) Conrad, sister, Linda Standiford (David), his daughters Donna Graham (Steve), Carrie Hinton (Bill), Michele Pearce (Jon), his grandchildren, Tara Haskins (Brian), Megan Shaffer (Jeff), Allison Hinton, Jonathan Pearce (Kye Jenkins Pearce), Madeline Wood (Nathan), Joseph Pearce, and great-grandchildren Dylan Young, Coby Young, Sam Haskins, Logan Young, Anna Haskins, Jaclynn Shaffer, Ellie Shaffer, and Jensen Pearce.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Wolfe, Anna Lorene Conrad, Eva Bundren, and brothers, James E. Conrad and Russell "Rusty" Conrad.
