Donne G De'Jesus

Donne G. De'Jesus, affectionately known as "Donne Momma", passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in her beloved home city of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on December 27, 1945, she was a lifelong resident of Louisville, embodying the spirit and culture of the community she cherished.

Donne had a notable career in clerical work at General Hospital, which later became University of Louisville Hospital. Her dedication and commitment to her profession were qualities that many admired. A proud graduate of Central High School in Louisville, she laid a strong educational foundation that informed her professional journey.

Donne was an active member of the Portland Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where she fostered deep connections with her faith and community. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her vibrant personality; she loved her friends dearly and had a passion for hosting lively gatherings filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt connections. Donne was also a diehard University of Louisville fan, showcasing her unwavering support for her local team.

An exceptional cook, she took great pleasure in preparing meals for her family and friends, creating not just food, but also memorable experiences and cherished memories around the dining table.

She is survived by her children, Crystal Rayborn, Kevin Rayborn, and Amon De'Jesus; her grandchildren, Amyia, Amarie, TeErica, DeAundre, Chauncey, Christopher, Chesaray, and Kayla; and a host of great-grandchildren and extended family members who will continue to honor her legacy.

Donne is preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Rayborn; her grandson, Amoni De'Jesus; and her parents, Catherine Johnson and Aaron Johnson.

Visitation will be held on February 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. Burial will follow at Louisville Cemetery. 

Donne G. De'Jesus leaves behind a rich legacy of love, community involvement, and cherished moments that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
