Donna Sue (Payne) Yager, 74, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, June 5, 2024, after a valiantly fought illness. In her final days, she was surrounded by many people who loved her, a testament to how dear she was and how beloved she will remain.
She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 10, 1949, to the late Charles and Irene (Sharp) Payne.
Donna was warm and loving, but she had a deceptively wicked sense of humor and often landed a perfectly timed sarcastic quip. She made holidays and summer vacations magical for her grandkids, to whom she was affectionately known as Nana, and by whom she was treasured.
Never really one for sitting at home, she was always out doing something fun. She loved her longstanding Sunday lunch tradition with her sons and trips to the casino with her daughter and son-in-law. She could often be found shopping or at bingo with her sisters and her niece and dear friend, Erin.
She leaves behind her so many joyful, irreplaceable memories. She was a special woman, and all who knew her were blessed because of it.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Marty Payne. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Jody (Tina) Hall, Marc (Mindy) Hall, and Stacie (Bill) Koch; siblings, Rick (Donna) Payne, Cindy (Bob) Gearing and Dianne Gritton; grandchildren, Taryn (Alison) Petrash-Hall, Zakk (Lynzi) Hall, Hunter Mason, Dayton Wilson, Jayden Robinson, Kalob Bennett, Brantlee "Buddy" Hall, Jordan (Alex) Prins, Jakob Koch, Jenna Koch, Marc Hall, Collin Hall, and their mother, Natalie Hall; and great-grandchildren, Cooper Hall and Fox Hall.
