Donna Lynn Rutzler, a luminous spirit whose artistic vision and boundless creativity touched the lives of many, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Corydon, Indiana, at the age of 76. Born on December 1, 1947, in the sunny city of San Diego, California, to the late Jess and Sarah Dragoo, Donna carried the essence of the West Coast with her throughout her remarkable life, infusing her journey with a sense of wonder and adventure.
A talented artist at heart, Donna embarked on a fulfilling career as the founder of a pottery business aptly named Feet of Clay after relocating to New Jersey. Her artistry was not merely a profession but a passion that propelled her across the country, showcasing her unique creations far and wide. Donna’s pottery resonated with the beauty of the landscapes she explored, echoing her free-spirited nature and insatiable curiosity for the world around her.
Though she traversed the vast expanses of this nation, it was in Corydon, Indiana, where she ultimately planted her roots, finding special comfort and support from her sister-in-law, K.C. and niece, Sarah, who always made sure she was taken care of, creating a cherished home that reflected her vibrant personality. Known for her warmth, creativity, and vivacity, Donna inspired those fortunate enough to cross her path.
Donna leaves behind a loving family who carries her spirit forward. Her daughter, Jessie (Sal) Parisi, remains a source of pride and joy, alongside her grandchild, Angela Parisi, who will continue the legacy of creativity and exploration that characterized Donna’s life. She is also survived by her brothers, Victor (K.C.) Dragoo and Bruce Dragoo.
Along with her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister Gayle Dragoo.
Donna's family would like to thank the staff at Indian Creek, where she spent her final days. They became more than just caretakers, they were invaluable friends.
