Donna Marie (Leonard) Carpenter

Donna Marie (Leonard) Carpenter, 72, of Marysville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries at VFW Post 1427 and American Legion Post 335. Donna enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. She always looked forward to hosting family gatherings and cookouts.

She was born on November 10, 1950 in Jeffersonville to Harry, Sr. and Clara (Williamson) Leonard. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Mike, Don, Larry and Anthony Leonard.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jackie Carpenter, Sr.; son, Don Mike Cochran (Christina); step-children, Jackie Carpenter, Jr. (Bessie), Pebbles Barlow (Donovan); grandson, Michael Don Cochran; step-grandsons, Coe and Samuel Barlow; siblings, Harry Leonard, Jr. (Joyce), Arnell Barbara Cherry, David Leonard (Jody); sister-in-law, Stella Leonard; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
