Donald Noble Walters

March 2, 1935 — February 16, 2023

Donald N. Walters, born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 2, 1935, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 87. Don was an eloquent, well traveled man, teacher, author, theatrical director who had an infinite love for nature. His passion was in the thoroughbred horse racing industry and he dreamt of being a jockey, but at 6' 4", that ride would have been a bit rocky. An articulate intellect, he spoke freely and boldly about his beliefs and as a storyteller. He was quick with a quip, a wittish wink and boundless smile.

Don served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War era and received his education from Eastern Kentucky and Northwestern Universities. He was preceded in death by his parents; Nelson and Edna, brother; Bill and grandson Taylor.

His love remains for his sons, Todd (Luci) and Alan (Sheryl); granddaughter, Jenny (Jared) Garner; and a host of family and friends.

A Military Honor Guard memorial service will be gracefully held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky. Attendees are welcome to speak in fond remembrance during the service.

Memorials may be made to the Audubon Society in Don Walters name.
