Donald Lee Summers

Donald Lee Summers, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired after a long career as an optician.

He was born on April 17, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to Virgil and Anna (Loveland) Summers. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Stewart) Summers; and son, Kevin Summers.

Donald is survived by his son, Eric Summers; grandchildren, Victoria Risley (Caleb Cook), Anastasia Summers, Dustin Summers, Shane Summers, Rebecca Reisert; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Elwood Summers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald's wish was to be cremated and a reception of family and friends will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of his life taking place at 1:00 p.m.
