Donald Ray Riley

Donald Ray Riley, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He considered himself one of "Santa's helpers" and loved making children happy, especially around Christmas. Don enjoyed giving rides on the Faulkenberg Train during Harvest Homecoming. He was proud of his 1940 Ford Deluxe Business Coupe, was fond of his dog, Tag, and was a member of the Token Club.

He was born on October 9, 1949, in New Albany, Indiana, to Carl and Mildred (Faulkenberg) Riley. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, David and Darlene.

Don is survived by his children, Kenton Riley (Christy Mathis) and Kerry Prather (Gregory, Jr.); grandchildren, Jared (fiancée, Sharon), Devin, Caitlin, and Josh; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Evie; brothers, Delbert, Darrell, and Daniel; sisters, Delores, Dora, Debra, and Diana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 4:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Don's wish.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army (Angel Tree Program, 216 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40202).
