Donald Everett Hollis

Donald Everett Hollis, 71, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born on August 3, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky and raised by Alvin and Doris (Taylor) Krull. He is preceded in death by his parents. Donnie was a 1971 graduate of Valley High School in Louisville. He retired from Phillip Morris where he served as union steward. Donnie enjoyed playing chess, cards, and board games, eating at Suburban Fish Fry, and watching movies; especially westerns, horror, and suspense. He enjoyed vacationing in the mountains in Gatlinburg and fishing whenever able. He also had an appreciation for Native American art and culture. Donnie would do anything for his friends and family. He loved his dog, Molly, who was his faithful companion. He was beloved by many and his witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Donnie is survived by his daughters, Brittany (Thomas) Prince and Jennifer (Jan) Hollis-Cole; son, Ray (Nancy) Harig; sister, Rose (John) Roemele and her family; significant other, Carla Davis; grandchildren, Sarah, Kaitlin, Travis, Mckenzie, Steven, Bailey, Gabe, Carly, Grayson, Brennon, Quinton, Mickayla, Taylor, and Crystal; best friend, Molly; and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation for Donnie will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).

The family requests that contributions in Donnie's memory be made to the Humane Association (2702 Middle Rd, Jeffersonville, IN 47130) or the American Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023).
