Donald Lee "Dj" Carmickle, Jr.

Donald Lee "DJ" Carmickle, Jr., 40, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was a 2002 graduate of New Albany High School and an employee in the Electronics Department at Wal-Mart. DJ was a big gamer and very fond of his cats, Fang, Luna, Smokey, Caz and Jake.

He was born on June 24, 1983 in New Albany to Donald, Sr. and the late Peggy (Lori) Carmickle. Along with his father, DJ is survived by his brothers, Greg Griffin (Michelle), Shawn Griffin (Samantha); and several nieces, nephews and close cousins.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
