Dolores Ann (McQuilling) Lanham, 83, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was a very hard-working woman who was dedicated to any job she had. She was a wonderful mom, who would do anything for her family. She loved shopping for a good bargain, bonfires, Euchre, her granddaughter and great granddaughters, and Christmas, especially wrapping the presents. She loved making her famous dumplings and persimmon pudding. She loved playing Bingo at the Moose Lodge with her buddy Raymond, who lovingly called her "Mom." Later in life, she enjoyed being able to run around like a teenager with a new driver's license. She was always put together whenever she went anywhere and was never seen without her white Reebok tennis shoes. She was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge 1757 and the American Legion Post 204.
She was born on August 30, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Henry and Dorothy (Lukett) McQuilling. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Paul Lanham; her sisters, Wilma L. (Bob) Heightchew and Dorothy Rosenauer; and her brothers, George, Charles, William (Jean), Richard (Cheryl), and Frederick McQuilling.
Dolores is survived by her son, Derrick (Darlene) Lanham; her daughter, Michelle (Ronald) Sweeney, who cared for her for the last 4 1/2 years; her granddaughter, Lindsey; and her great-grandchildren, Kylie and Lyla; along with many nephews and nieces and newly found niece, Ramona (Jason) Prather, with whom she was delighted to be reunited.
Per Dolores's request, there will be no services.
