Dodie M. Harmon

March 21, 1932 — August 21, 2022

Dodie Marie Harmon, aged 90 of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2022. She was born March 21, 1932 in Whitesville, KY to the late Melinda and William Ralph.

Dodie was a graduate of Indiana State University, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. After a long career at corporate Phillip Morris in Louisville, Dodie retired and dedicated the rest of her life to spending time with her beloved family and friends.

She was deeply devoted to her daughter and grandchildren. She never missed a holiday, birthday or family event. The love she had for her family was immeasurable and they were her entire world. The memory of unwavering kindness and dedication will live on in their hearts forever.

One of her greatest passions in life was dancing. She loved to go to the senior dance and attended the weekly gatherings. She adored all her senior dance friends, and she rarely missed going. She will always be remembered by those friends as not only one of the best dancers, but one of the best dressed. She loved to coordinate her outfits with the holidays throughout the year. She spent countless hours sewing and crafting just the right festive embellishments for her dance dresses.

Dodie was said to be the life of the party. She had an incredible sense of humor and her outgoing personality commanded attention everywhere she went. Her zest for life was contagious and you couldn't help but be happy when you were in her presence. She never failed to crack a joke and have the whole room laughing.

Dodie was preceded in death by her twin brother Ora Lee Ralph (Patricia); sisters Betty Tyler (George) and Irene Turner; brothers Joe (Kay), Carl, and Ben Ralph (Bernice). She is survived by her daughter Amanda Richter (Harlan); grandchildren Blair Wood (Rick), Lindsay Lynch and Chris (Coco) Coffey. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Annabelle Wood (13) and Timmy Lynch (5). Her memory will forever be cherished by countless nieces and nephews, for whom she loved dearly.
