Dilly Carol(Dyer) Thaxton

Dilly "Carol" (Dyer) Thaxton, 67, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014. Carol was a retired English teacher at Butler Traditional High School and was also a member at Northside Christian Church where she was actively involved in the Grief Share Program.

Carol was born on July 25, 1946 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Martin W. and Margaret (Piercy) Dyer. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kyle Thaxton; and grandson, Chance Zuniga.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James E. Thaxton; children, Gary Zuniga (Priscilla), Wade Thaxton (Clarissa), Keith Thaxton, Rebecca Diane Thaxton Sands (Donnie); grandchildren, Elanore Thaxton, Gracie Walker, Chance Zuniga, Brittany Zuniga, Zachary Bolyard (Venus), Krista Bolyard; and great-grandchildren, Kyan Bolyard and Tristan Zuniga.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Northside Christian Church (4407 Charlestown Road, New Albany).

Contributions in Carol's memory may be made to the Grief Share Program at Northside Christian Church.
