Dietrich August Kolewe, a dedicated and beloved member of his family, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tina Louise Kolewe (d. 2022), married for 37 years. Born on November 18, 1963, in Hartford, Connecticut, Dietrich lived a life characterized by hard work, devotion, and a deep love for his family and friends.

A proud graduate of The Storm King School, Dietrich dedicated many years to a successful career in information technology and sales, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He carried these values into every aspect of his life; embodying the principles of dedication and loyalty that defined him as a proud father, brother, and grandfather.

Dietrich was well-known for his vibrant personality, marked by a passion for life that resonated with everyone he met. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, finding joy in the camaraderie it brought with family and friends. His love for playing golf fulfilled his desire to socialize and maintain an active lifestyle.

Cooking was another of Dietrich’s beloved pastimes, and he found immense joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. His love for the beach and fishing were reflective of his appreciation for nature and relaxation. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his grandchildren, bringing levity and warmth into their lives while nurturing the bonds that would forever be etched in their memories.

Dietrich is survived by his son, Justin Shane (Rachael) Kolewe; daughter, Steffany (Kyle) Cashman; daughter, Nicki (Kevin) Jones; son, Tim (Jennifer) Lake; grandchildren, Avery, Brandon, Maliah, Freya, Maddox, Remy, and Isabella; as well as his father, Diethard Kolewe; mother, Leanna Farrell; brothers, Deland Kolewe, Marty Kolewe, Korwyn Kolewe, and William Kolewe; and sister, Jennifer Kolewe-Harris. Dietrich is remembered not only for his dedication and hard work, but also for his ability to bring everyone together; a gift that will continue to illuminate their lives even in his absence.

Dietrich’s proudest accomplishments revolved around witnessing his family's growth, instilling values and love that will echo through generations. His legacy will be carried on by his devoted family who will forever remember the indelible mark he left on their lives.
