Dick Gardner, 85, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
He was born on January 7, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Nellis and Mary (Cody) Gardner. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-laws, Tony Kiesler and Bob Beach.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Brenda Gardner, children Robert Joseph Gardner (Stephanie), Susan Lynn Eckloff (Keith), five grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Eckloff, Claire Ann Eckloff, Gabrielle Grant (Jerry), Gavin Horner, Kaytlyn Sanford (Dylan), two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Reece Grant and siblings, Jim Gardner (Kathy), Judy Kiesler, John Gardner (Carol), Karen Beach, Martha Steimel and Michael Gardner (Kathy).
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church (7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40222).
The family requests that contributions in Dick's memory be made to Catholic Charities of Louisville (2911 South 4th Street, Louisville, KY 40208), Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville (1620 Bank St, Louisville, KY 40203) and/or The Society of the Divine Savior.
