Diana Clem, 74, of Goshen, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
She was born on August 8, 1949 in Dillsboro, Indiana to the late William Goodpaster and Rosemary (Kelly) Warford. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Ramey; brother, Mike Warford and step-father, Paul Warford.
Diana was a cheerleader for Aurora High School and known around town by her nickname Diapers that was given to her by her big brother Donnie. She attended Ball State University majoring in Elementary Education. Ball State is where she met her husband Gary at one of his legendary parties, in what can only be explained as a comical version of a Cinderella story. Gary and Diana have spent the last 54 years of marriage traveling the world, raising their three daughters, playing golf, laughing and loving one another.
Diana's passions in life included singing in her church choir, working in her garden, her nursing home ministry, supporting Joshua Mutisya Kilangu's African Ministry, enjoying her neighborhood bunko group, traveling with her best friends and playing euchre with her friends and daughters.
Diana had many accomplishments in her lifetime, but most notable are her nine grandchildren and only second to her pride for her grandchildren, was the hole in one she got at Oldham County Country Club in 2016.
If you ever had the pleasure of sitting at Diana's kitchen table listening to her lifetime of stories, she considered you family. She was generous, funny and irreplaceable. Our immense sadness is a testament to what a wonderful woman she truly was. The outpour of love and kindness from our friends, family and neighbors would bring her so much happiness because it has brought us comfort and care in her absence. She would want us to find peace and even joy in the fact that she is reunited with so many loved ones who have passed before her, including her own amazing mother, Rosemary. To know Diana was to love Diana and we will forever be blessed to call her ours.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gary Lee Clem; daughters, Kelly Ruiz (Carlos), Meghann Mattingly (James), Erin Sexton (Kevin); nine grandchildren, Amilia Ruiz, Sophie Sexton, Maya Ruiz, Blake Mattingly, Norah Sexton, Penelope Sexton, Miles Mattingly, Lina Ruiz and Macy James Mattingly. She is also survived by siblings, Elaine, Donald (Patricia), Paula, Linda, Kathy, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 pm at Covenant Methodist Church (909 West Jefferson Street, La Grange, KY 40031). The family asks you join them for a lite meal following the services.
