Devon Colton Shimin

Devon "Soap" Shimin, age 37, of Louisville, passed away on August 7, 2022. Devon was owner of Soap Pest Control. He loved video games, anime, family movie night and comic books. Devon had a good sense of humor and was very proud of telling corny "Dad jokes." He wanted to make everyone laugh. Once jokingly, he said to Lindsey that if he died put him in a pine box in the middle of nowhere and tell people that he left her.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gretchen Bradleigh, and his brother, Kyle McGonigle.
Devon was married to Lindsey Addison Shimin. He was the devoted, proud father of 4 children: Darius and Dorian, sons of Ebony Shimin; Layla and Nailah, daughters of Angela Shimin.
He also leaves behind his sister, Keli Perret (Shane), and brother, Symeon Shimin. Devon very much loved and cared for his pets, Cinder, Taz, and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his dogs, Rocky and Chase.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home East, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky at 1:00 PM, Saturday August 20, 2022, followed by funeral services at 3:00.
