Dennis Dale Phillips

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Dale Phillips, age 74, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, on Sunday, January 19, 2025. 

Born on May 23, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, Dennis was the cherished son of Leonard and Lillian (Sherbaum) Phillips. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his daughter, Marilyn Brown, who preceded him in death.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sandy Phillips. He also leaves his daughter, Tanya Gaspar; stepdaughters, Laura Fisher and Stacy Cheney; as well as seven grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Dennis is also survived by his dear sister, Lynnett Martin, and his best friend, Kenny Lewis.

A proud veteran, Dennis served our country during the Vietnam Era in the United States Airforce before continuing his service in the United States Army. His time in the military exposed him to countless experiences and invaluable lessons that he cherished throughout his life.

After his service, Dennis devoted himself to raising his family, embodying the role of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He always relished the moments shared with family and friends, and he found great joy in dreaming about motorcycles—a passion that mirrored his vibrant spirit.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). The Funeral Service will commence at 12:00 pm, followed by burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Fort Knox, Kentucky at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Dennis's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation. Dennis's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
