Dennis L. Helms

Dennis L. Helms, 78, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from exposure to Agent Orange.
He was born on April 25, 1944 in McAndrews, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Myrda (May) Helms. He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Jim and Ken Helms, three sisters, Lillian Hackney, Clara Bo Blackburn, Brenda Gray and grandson, David Whitney.
He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Dennis retired after 32 years from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation in the Finance Department and was a member of Westport Road Baptist Church.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen (Horrar) Helms, children, Todd Helms (Gina), Leigh Ann Greene (Scott) and four grandchildren, Katelyn Greene, Jackson Greene, Carter Greene and Trenton Greene. He is also survived by his brother Howard Helms (Grace) and sister Peggy Stanley (Bob).
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Westport Road Baptist Church (9705 Westport Road Louisville, KY 40241).
He will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Cave Hill Cemetery (701 Baxter Avenue Louisville, KY 40204).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions in Dennis's memory be made to WHAS Crusade for Children and/or Westport Road Baptist Church.
