Dennis Farrow, 56, of Decatur, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. John's Hospital.
Dennis was born August 27, 1958 in Louisville, KY, the son of James Scott and Edna Irene (Compton) Farrow. Dennis was an engineer at Norfolk Southern Railroad in Decatur for 27 years. He had many interests that included spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Dennis had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He loved spending time with his family, especially when it came to spoiling the grandchildren. Dennis married Betty Mahaffey on February 11, 1978, in Decatur, IL. They shared 36 wonderful years of their lives together.
Dennis leaves behind his wife, Betty; son, Steven (Nichole) Farrow of Decatur; daughters, Patricia (Jeffrey) Ellis of Decatur; Melissa (fiancé Jeffrey Riggs) Farrow of Decatur; Elizabeth Farrow of Decatur; brothers, Anthony Farrow of Louisville, KY; James Franklin of Jacksonville, IL; grandchildren, Dalton, Conner, and Emma Ellis; Brayden, Corey, Kameron, and Gavyn Farrow; and Logan, Conner, Matthew, and Benjermin Riggs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Farrow; parent-in-laws, Gerald and Rheta Mahaffey; brother, Gerald Farrow; sister, Judith Farrow; and brother-in-law, Mark Welton.
Services to celebrate the life of Dennis will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Big Spring Cemetery in Big Spring, KY on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
