Delores J.(Douglas) Hodge

Delores J. (Douglas) Hodge, 80, passed away on June 25, 2012 at Robert E. Lee Nursing Home in New Albany. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army and a former active member of the United Service Organization. Delores' favorite hobby in life was her kids and grandkids.
Delores was born on February 2, 1932 in New Albany to the late William J. and Clara (Coats) Douglas. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donnie Hodge; sisters, Lavada McCormick and Helen Wendell.
She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Jessie P. Hodge; children, Eddie Hodge (Candice), Margaret Hodge, Donna Creadon (Bill), Kenny Hodge, George Hodge (Virginia), Georgetta Rowe (Patrick); 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Delores' wishes. Burial will take place at a later date in the New Albany National Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach.
