Delee Rae Lawrence

DeLee Lawrence, affectionately known as "Ms. Dee," was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 15th, 1948. She later made Louisville, Kentucky her home with her beloved husband, Ritchie Lawrence, where they raised their six children and created a loving family. On September 17, 2023, DeLee passed away unexpectedly in Canton, Georgia, where she resided with her daughter Sandra Butler.

DeLee Lawrence is survived by her loving husband Ritchie Lawrence, their children, Trish Jaggers, Ricky Lawrence, Nina Jamison, Nellie Luckett, Melissa Roberts, and Sandra Butler, as well as her sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Bobby, Tommy, Maryann, Ruthie, and Sandy, who will forever cherish their memories of their beloved sister.

DeLee was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Reed; mother-in-law, Nellie Lawrence; her grandson Cameron Roberts, and many other loved ones who held special places in her heart.

Throughout her life, DeLee dedicated herself to her family and friends. She imparted strong values and work ethic to her children and grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Her heart of gold was evident to all who knew her, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. DeLee possessed a sweet and welcoming personality, never considering anyone a stranger. She enjoyed engaging in conversation with others and remained young at heart until her last days. Her love for playing BINGO brought her joy, frequently visiting Charity, Breckinridge, and Sunshine BINGO halls. Additionally, DeLee was an ardent fan of Elvis Presley, Chuck Norris, and professional wrestling. She found solace and delight in music, often expressing her joy through dancing.

DeLee Lawrence leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memories bring comfort and strength to those who mourn her loss.

Her funeral will be held in her cherished hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home on September 29th, 2023, from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on September 30th at 11 AM, followed by interment at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
