Delbert O'Brien Sharp, 81, of Lanesville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He participated in Boy Scouts during his youth and was a United States Army veteran. Delbert retired from Chemtron/Cherry Burrell in Louisville, Kentucky after 32 years of service as a carpenter. He was an avid gardener and attended Scottsburg Christian Church for many years.
He was born on February 11, 1933 in Louisville to the late Marvin and Eva R. (Clark) Sharp. Delbert is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary (Mayfield) Sharp; siblings, Donald Sharp (Ann), Wayne Sharp (Debbie), Joyce Craig (Ron), Norma McGraw; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 6 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 11 AM. His Funeral Service will take place at 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Delbert's wishes.
