Debra Marie Coates

In loving memory of Debbie, a fountain of kindness and joy. Her selflessness and boundless love touched all who knew her. With a heart for crafting, cooking and candy-making, she spread happiness effortlessly. Her love for her children, grandchildren, beloved kitty Socks and her dear fiancé, Kevin, knew no bounds. A true hippie at heart, she danced through life with a spirit as free as the wind. In her time at Kroger, Debbie found joy in her work and cherished her coworkers dearly. Though she's gone, her legacy of love lives on in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elizabeth Hill and brothers, Dennis and Danny Hill.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Amber Coates and Bill Coates; grandchildren, Christopher, Damien, Brielle, Aubriana, Leigha, Matthew, Jr. and Valerie; sisters, Donna Hill and Dawn Hill; fiancé, Kevin Kerch; bonus children, Bobby Miller, Wesley Miller and Amie Kerch-Boggs and sister-in-law, Lisa Hill.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Riverside Baptist Church, 4713 Lees Lane, Louisville, KY 40216, from 10:00am-10:45am with a celebration of Debbie's life beginning at 10:45am. There will be a balloon release at Iroquois Park (the Overlook); family and friends will meet at 2:30 pm for a walk to the Overlook. Following the balloon release there will be a cook-out at Amber's house beginning at 5:30pm.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Shirley's Way,10966 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272, https://www.shirleysway.org, in Debbie's memory.
