Deborah Sue Wathen

Deborah Sue Wathen, 67, of Fairdale, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. Deborah enjoyed gardening and thrift shopping. She had a knack for refinishing old furniture, and decorating. Deborah was an avid cook and was a devoted Wife, Mother, DeeDee, and Friend to so many. She loved to dance with her husband, and her home was always open to anyone in need. Deborah helped foster kids who were very unfortunate and brought love that they needed the most. She had a contagious laugh, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was born on April 21, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Delores (Hawkins) Dismang. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Wathen, Parents, Daughter, Heather Wathen, Brothers, Stephan McKnight, and Larry Cape.

Deborah is survived by her Daughter, Vonda Estes (Leslie Mendez), Sons, John Jeffries, and Justin Wathen (Samantha Bowen), Grandchildren, Tabitha, Haley, Cameron, and Christian, Great Grandchildren, Alexandria, and Anastasia, Brother, Ronald Cape, and Sister, Karen McKnight-Devoe. Deborah also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. Burial with Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
