With a heart as wide as the ocean, a spirit so bright, and a resilience and love so strong, Deborah Lee Pepper went home on February 25, 2025. She was he most devoted Christian, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Born in Las Cruces, raised in Louisville and settled in Shelbyville, "Debbie Pepper" (as she was always known) leaves behind a legacy of strength and compassion that will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
From her treasured role as a mother to Dylan and Jaime Miller, to her most cherished title of "Pepper, Gammie and Mimi" to seven grandchildren—Emma (17), Colton and Addison (15) Schneider, Lilly Brooke (11), Payton (10) and Gracie Miller (8), and Axel (3) Brodt— Debbie poured her heart into every moment with her loved ones. She also leaves behind her step mother Betty Hohle, brother Joel Barker and her greatest love Quentin Quire. She was a guiding light in their lives, always available with a listening ear, a warm embrace, and words of encouragement, reminding them of the importance of faith and family. She leaves behind many amazing friends who lit up her world and let her free spirit shine. She joins her parents, John and Brooke Pepper, sister Kimberly, and many dearest friends and other family in Heaven.
Throughout her life, Debbie faced many health challenges but met each one with unwavering courage and determination. Her strength was an inspiration to all who knew her. No matter the trials she encountered, she never allowed them to dim her spirit or deter her passion for helping others. Debbie gave selflessly, supporting friends and family through their times of need while saying prayers for strength and healing.
She also looked forward to starting a new chapter with the love her life, Quentin Quire, whose love brought her joy and companionship in her later years. Together, they shared laughter, hope, and a commitment to building new memories.
While Debbie has left this world, her love and lessons live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her kindness, fierce determination, and unwavering faith. In her honor, let us continue living with the same passion and grace she filled our lives with.
