A Celebration of Life for Deborah Chappell Dorman, Jeffersonville, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Wall Street United Methodist Church, 240 Wall Street, Jeffersonville. Deborah passed on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Norton Pavilion/Hosparus Unit in Louisville, KY. Per Deborah's wishes, cremation and a private burial in Utica Cemetery were chosen.
Born on December 22nd, in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Hazel M. (Shepherd) Chappell and John C. Chappell, Deborah and her family moved to Jeffersonville where she lived until her death. At the time of her death, she was employed as a Principal at William M. Mercer, the world's largest human resources consultants, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan, Inc.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, John C. Chappell, and her brother-in-law, Michael Papania.
Survivors include the loves of her life, her children and grandchildren: daughter, Heather Dorman Teepe, and her sons, Jackson and Justin Teepe, Indianapolis; son, Troy Dorman, his wife, Alison, and their son, Vincent Dorman, Utica, Indiana. She is also survived by: Mike Mullins, Louisville, KY, best friend and primary caregiver.
Other survivors include: Her mother, Hazel M. Chappell, Jeffersonville; sisters, Judy Chappell Papania, Floyds Knobs, and Suzanne Chappell Strong, Lexington, KY, nephews: Mario Papania, Alaska; and Thomas Strong and wife, Adrianne, Lexington, KY.
Her children would like to thank the Hosparus doctors and staff at Norton's Pavilion for the special care Deborah received and recognize Deborah's very special friends who, along with Mike Mullins, spent many hours by her side during her final journey home: Cassie Schonard, Terisha Johnson, Linda Emly, Chris Myers, and Sandy Lewis.
