Debbie Genovese

Debbie Genovese, 74, of Louisville, KY, passed away on April 28, 2023. She was a proud 1967 gradate of DuPont Manuel High School. Debbie's passion was fostering kittens for Louisville Animal Metro Services for over 10 years. As her foster coordinator said, Debbie fostered and saved 100's of kittens that would not have ever had a chance, such as ringworm kittens, mean as sin kittens, cats that needed extra TLC, including footing many of their medical bills. Debbie socialized them and made them ready for adoption.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Clearcy Huffman; brothers, Jerry Wayne Huffman and John Henry Huffman and sister-in-law, Christine Huffman.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 53 years, Sam Genovese; sister-in-law, "Bunny" Huffman; forever friend, Sharon (Bob) Burnett Krauth; 12+ fur babies and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-8pm.

The family will be laying Debbie to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- Central, having a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Friends of Metro Animal Services (FOMAS), 3528 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40218, in Debbie's memory.
