Deanna R. (Leidolf) Smith, 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Deanna was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs. She loved flowers and was an excellent gardener. A talented cook, she expressed her love by opening her home and heart to many.
Deanna was born on June 11, 1940 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Earl and Minnie (Striegel) Leidolf.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Shelby Smith; sons, David (Ginger) and Gary (Jeanne) Smith; daughters, Julie Ford, Lori Fenwick (David), and Caroline Krouse; brother, Alvin Leidolf; sisters, Vada Thomas, Ruthie King (Gene), and Earlene Dean; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial Visitation will be from 12 to 4 PM on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A private Memorial Service will be at 4 PM on Sunday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs.
Contributions in Deanna's memory may be made to Samaritan's Purse (P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607) or to Cedar Lake Lodge (7984 New LaGrange Road, Louisville, KY 40222).
